You know, I arrange the video date with 3 time zone.
I prioritize the time preference of my client’s and his match’s, however whenever possible I join them for 5-10 minutes at the beginning to make an introduction to get the conversation going. Also, it is important that I get to see their vibes, interactions and facial expression..etc to watch the match. This is so, traditional Japanese matchmaker way!
(Apparently, very very few agencies provide the type of on the date support in the western world of matchmaking. )
They just exchange the phone number a day before in case they have trouble meeting up. We don’t exchange the contact information until after the initial meeting…
Last weekend, 3 introductions went wrong. Two of them was technical difficulty issues and another one was the miscommunication. (I worked with another agency, they gave our match a wrong time by mistake.)
Since there’s no phone number exchange, everything go through me. I am around to make sure the call / meeting can happen…so joining the video call is good way to make sure my matches are connected.
