運命の人とは What Changes When You Stop Looking for Perfect.

If you’ve made it to Part 3 — I appreciate you staying with this.

I want to bring it somewhere personal now. Not as a matchmaker. Just as someone who has spent a long time thinking about this — and watching other people navigate it.

Here is what I have noticed.

Most people who come to me searching for a partner have a list. Sometimes it’s written down. More often it lives in their head – refined over years, sharpened by experience, adjusted slightly after each relationship that didn’t work out.

The list isn’t wrong. Knowing what you want is a good thing. Clarity matters.

But there’s a version of the list that becomes a wall. Where every new person is measured against it immediately and found slightly lacking. Too short. Not quite the right energy. Good but not quite right.  I don’t feel it.  Nice but not what I think I want.

And the search continues. And the list stays the same.

What 運命の人とは asks — quietly, without judgment.  It is an entirely different question.

Not “does this person already fit?” But “does this person have the intention to grow with me?”

That is a completely different thing to look for. And it changes the search in a way I find genuinely interesting.

Because you can feel intention quite early. Not in grand gestures. In small things. Whether someone is curious about you – really curious, not performing curiosity. Whether they listen. Whether they show up consistently, not just impressively. Whether they handle a difficult moment with grace rather than avoidance.

These things are visible early. If you know to look for them.

The height is on the profile sheet. The intention that you have to meet the person to find out.

And here is the thing I keep coming back to, years into this work.

The couples I have watched build something truly lasting  across cultures, across distances, across all the complications that international life brings — they almost never describe their partner as someone who arrived already perfect. They describe someone who showed up. Who stayed. Who grew.

Who decided, quietly and consistently, to be the person their partner needed.

That is 運命の人とは. Not a lightning bolt to make you head over the heels in love. Not a checklist completed. No…..Not love at first sight.

A decision. Made again and again.

And you know what I think is the most hopeful part of all this?

That post ended with something I haven’t mentioned yet.

そしてあなただって、誰かにとっての「運命の人」になれる。

And you, too, can become someone’s destined person.

Not just find yours. Become one.

That feels like the right place to end search for your destined person.
