At the beginning of the year,
I was watching Youtube catching up with the countdowns and fireworks episodes that took place in different countries. (I was in the place where 2020 came almost the last on the planet..while I was asleep, many countries welcomed the new years.)
Saw lots of grand fireworks in many western and Asian cities. However… it was nothing like that in Japan!
Everyone went to Shrine/temple making a wish. Monks gonged the bell 108 times starting from 15 min to the midnight to clear the old sins, everyone remained silent and prayed…no facial expression. That is Japan. No firecrackers nor fireworks. Not like where I was…lol
It was so noisy in my neighbourhood that I almost missed the quiet Japanese way of welcoming a new year.
How is your Cultural EQ..?
How many difference in culture can you think about?
The above photo: Zen temple in Japan
The below: Times Square in NTC
Both are celebrating the new year….
Ying / Yang difference in the way of welcoming the new year
You may think “why they celebrate that way…?”
It is not about who’s way is right.
Each culture and each person is different
Just like you are different to others
Happy new year!
Look forward to speaking with you ..💕✨
